ABOUT STEVE BUISSON
Purposeful by choice. Proven by experience.
Steve Buisson spent 30 years at the top of the financial services world — as a Chief Risk Officer at Truist, one of the nation's largest banks, and in executive roles at BB&T and AIG. He accomplished everything he set out to accomplish.
Then he became a coach. Not by accident, and not as a second career. By purpose.
WHAT I BELIEVE
Relationships are built on trust. Trust is built on honesty. That chain — relationship, trust, honesty — is the foundation of every engagement Steve takes on, and the reason his clients stay.
Relationships are everything.
Executive skills are not given.
They are developed.
The leaders who grow the most are the ones willing to do the intentional work — to examine how they think, how they lead, and who they're becoming. Steve's role is to make that work possible.
The work doesn't stop at the office door.
When a leader grows, everything around them tends to grow too. Steve's clients frequently find that the clarity and confidence they develop professionally changes how they show up at home, in their communities, and in their own sense of purpose.
THE JOURNEY
An unusual path. An unmatched perspective.
Steve didn't start in finance. He started in aerospace — graduating from the University of Virginia with a degree in Aerospace Engineering and beginning his career as an engineer with the Department of Defense. That foundation — analytical, precise, systems-thinking — followed him into every chapter that came next.
A pivot into financial services led to three decades of increasingly senior leadership roles, culminating as Business Unit Chief Risk Officer at Truist, one of the nation's top 10 banks. Along the way he developed a conviction that the most complex challenges organizations face are rarely technical. They're human.
That conviction became Executive Balance. Today Steve brings the analytical rigor of an engineer, the strategic experience of a C-suite executive, and the trained presence of an ICF Professional Certified Coach to leaders who are ready to grow.
